"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Edison

BITL is running a first of its kind Climate Action Prototyping Lab to rapidly implement and test concepts that can create social change. Inspired by think tanks and innovation labs, our center is differentiated by action-oriented community programs. We strive to find the tools that deliver results and partner with organizations to scale them.

Our VR Lab is empowering student change makers in Miami

VR is a powerful new medium for education and storytelling, capable of building empathy, envisioning futures and activating new audiences. The VR Lab pilot is engaging 9th and 10th graders at Cushman High School in Miami, FL to produce and market virtual reality pieces to raise awareness and motivate action on local climate change issues. We are scaling the VR program to other schools, public libraries and target audiences across South Florida.

World Energy Game

We have partnered with MIT and Climate Interactive to develop and deliver the "World Energy Game" to high schools in South Florida. World Energy Game is like Model UN for climate change, and it incorporates team negotiations and computer simulations to explore climate & energy solutions in order to meet our global goal to get under 2-degrees Celsius temperature rise by year 2100. Learn more about World Energy Game by Climate Interactive.

  2. Transportation Tuesday - carpool, use public transport, bike, walk
  3. Water Wednesday - conserve water
  4. Trashy Thursday - reduce, reuse, recycle
  5. Payday Friday - donate to an environmental cause
  6. Supportive Saturday - be vocal
  7. Appreciation Sunday - spend time in nature
